Lab Personnel
Jiming Jiang
Principle Investigator
I have a broad interest on plant genetics and genomics. I try to be a good coach in the lab, helping my students and postdocs to tackle problems and solve puzzles. At home I enjoy observing the growth and development of various plant species. Running is my favorite way of exercising.
Haoyang Xin
Postdoctoral Researcher
I received my Ph.D. at Nanjing Forestry University in Tree genetics and biology. I have an interest in the plant centromere function and crop improvement. Outside of lab, I like reading and walking.
Yingbo Li
Visiting Scholar
My name is Yingbo Li. I come from Shanghai, China. My major in the lab of Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences is Molecular plant breeding. We combine marker assisted breeding with Haploid culture to create new germplasm in crops. In Jiang lab, I am researching gene editing in Arabidopsis and potato.
Shinji Kikuchi
Visiting Scholar
I obtained my PhD under the supervision of Prof H. Tsujimoto at Tottori University in Japan. I then spent great time in Wisconsin-Madison as a post-doc, and I work then as an associate professor at Chiba University in Japan, primarily in the fields of cytogenetics and plant breeding. This time, as a sabbatical, I came to Jiang lab to learn oligo painting techniques. It's great to be back at this lab again! Outside of the lab, I enjoy the nature and culture of Michigan with my family.
